Hybrid Essay

          It’s never easy writing about subjects in school, unless you really love the topic.  But like they say about work, if you love your job, you will never work a day in your life, I used the same concept to get me through the topic of cars.  Now one of my favorite things to do is to work on and learn about cars.  There is so much to write about cars I would honestly never get done. It would be too broad, so mainly focused about car repairs and simple modifications.  I was excited, cars are my life and a true passion of mine now and probably will be for the rest of my life.  I would get to talk about a true passion of mine and get this homework assignment done.  In general it is hard to write and truly become a virtuoso in any field.  I found that if you are truly passionate about your subject, you will not have borders in your learning.  I honestly think that’s what any subject should be about.  You really get to express yourself and give your opinion on that certain topic with out having borders like we do in most school assignments. 

            When I did this I had a general idea of cars, and how most people view them.  Some see it as a passion; some see it as device that takes you from A to B.  When researching this I actually discovered some interesting things about how other people see their cars.  I discovered that most people don’t even work on their own car.  Some of my followers don’t even have a car.  And to the people who did have a car, I doubt that half of them would be able to locate a spark plug, so how were they supposed to properly repair their car?  I noticed this about half way into my research.  I couldn’t just steer off topic in the middle of researching.  I had to continue.  My point was to get the word out there and find different ways of writing instead of just this 5 paragraph essay style we seemed to have developed our whole life, just like the point in writing this hybrid essay.  This wasn’t easy but I had to develop my topic around this newfound information.  This was made easier because I knew that this blog didn’t really have these guard rails that other assignments usually have, so I continued my blog but focused less on the car repairs and more of the fact of cars and features and more general information.  I believed that it would help get me more viewers and also give them something interesting to read about. 

            I loved writing about cars even if they are not the most important topic.  I feel I didn’t have to create a topic that everybody would listen to, but soon realized  that my goal was to have fun.  With

this blog not only did I have fun and enjoy the topic I was writing about, I spent hours on websites researching the latest technologies in cars because it fascinated me.   Sometimes I would search so much I wouldn’t decide on what to write about.  I didn’t know weather to write about the cars that have already been out that are amazing or to drool over the latest features in the up coming models. 

            The thing I liked most about my topic was the fact that it was something everybody could agree on.  My point was to get good and accurate information to whoever would read my blog, if they would do those modifications or not.  My favorite part was actually doing it on my car.  When it came down to it, my blog wasn’t exactly so crucial and probably didn’t get the most views, but it is informative and very fun for me to write.

            Some topics of course will be more important to others, but it will always be important to the author.  This topic is important especially to me because I don’t exactly have the money to be
spending to take it to the dealership for care.  Yeah it has its pros and cons, and most of the time I actually enjoy working on my car, but sometimes I really don’t have time.  When you take it to the dealership you do end up spending a little more money, but you do get the peace of mind that your car is being worked on by professionals that are experts in your vehicle.  Still this topic is important to me and can be potentially money saving in expensive repair tips.  And if not repair tips I would spend the time drooling and talking about how the new cars are just gods gifts to this earth.  My favorites would be combining the performance of a car, with the functionality of a technologically advanced car.  With being informed on our purchases with cars, I believe it will make us happy customers but its also important because we will have the right vehicle for us. 

            When looking at the object as a whole, I realize that there are more effective ways to write about topics that the traditional ways we were always taught in school.  Something about this way of writing makes you want to go off topic and explore the subject and look in corners of our topics that not necessarily haven’t been covered, but are a little reflection of what’s important for us too look and learn about.  With this you feel like because you do have followers, that someone is generally interested in your topic, and takes a minute to read your information.

            When looking back, I feel accomplished in all that I have learned and all I have taught to other people.  But even if I didn’t teach anyone a thing, the most important part is that I got to explore a topic I loved and I learned something about my cars and myself.

Boss 302 Laguna Seca Edition

Possibly on of the best mustangs ever  built.  This one will go in the history books.  Here are just a couple of reasons why I love the boss 302

First:

It just looks really good.  This is an understatement really.  The color tones highlight all the parts of the mustang that you never really thought of painting.  This mustang in the picture has the awesome side colors, but it also highlights parts of the car most people dont see, like the bottom of the grill or bumper area, the rear view mirrors, some of the roof, and the rims.  Rims are a dangerous part of the car to change the color of.  Rims are like a pair of shoes.  They can pull the an outfit together.  Just like shoes, you can never really go wrong with black shoes, just like you can never really go wrong with black rims.  When you have a nice set of rims, it pulls together the look of the car.  

Another reason I love this car is performance.

This is just a beautiful engine.  I could go on forever just about this engine but I feel that most of my viewers are just as excited as I am, or will have no idea what I am talking about.  But really quick I just want to say this engine is amazing.  The best part about it is that it has one of the best engines ford has to offer.  Recently in 2012, ford resurrected from the dead its 5.0L v8.  They put this one in the GT, and then made is waaaaay better, and put it in the boss 302.  Massive intake system which basically allows better, cleaner air in the engine which leads to better combustion in the pistons, which lead to more horsepower.  

These are just some of the main reasons I love the 302.  Possibly my favorite mustang to date.

4 Door Mustang???

So someone at Ford had this crazy idea to add 2 more doors to the mustang.  I really do not see the point in this, this sedan style muscle car will be available in the 2014 models   The main reason they claim they wanted to make this car is for the muscle car enthusiast with kids.  I believe it is ruining the reputation of ford, and brings shame to the mustang name.  Why would you need two more doors, the mustang already has 4 seats.  If you want a 4 doors and some power, get a Dodge Charger.  I believe this additional doors will do more harm than good to the mustang name.

Why cars?

          I have been fascinated by cars since I was a kid, some see it as just as transportation, but the way I see it is as a reflection of yourself.  I want to write about car maintenance and performance because I feel that it is really the true way to understand it.  This blog fits all categories of car owners,  if you just have a car and want to maintain it, or if you want to make your car better and give it a little more juice.  Another reason I wanted to write this blog is because taking your car to a mechanic is like highway robbery.  They hold your car at the shop and tell you that this this and probably that is wrong with your car, and if you are people like my mom, then you will blindly agree without and other opinion.  Sometimes it is convenient, but other times it is just ridiculous how much they would charge you for the services they preform. 

            When I preform these services on my car, not only do I see it as saving money but I see it as a learning experience to better learn about my car and understand it.  And when I learn about my car, I can also make it better.

            Whats in it for you? Even if you don’t want to learn about your car and how an engine works, you can still have this general knowledge and save money on car repairs.  It helps, and it works.

DIY Car Repair Important Tips

So this article I found is pretty interesting and relevant.  Usually ill find articles on how to repair specific malfunctions on cars, but this article basically summarizes what I will be doing with my blog and the do’s and don’ts about at home car repairs. 

            So anything labeled DIY, which stands for Do IT Yourself, should be easy and simple to do yourself, without a professionals help.  These things range from things around the house, to work, to cars.  This article and my blog will focus on mainly on DIY car repairs. 

            So some of the main points the author brings up in this article is to know what your fixing.  When your check engine light comes on, it could mean literally thousands of things.  In order to see what is wrong, you need a code reader that you plug into your car, all mechanics should have one.  A recent problem that came up in my car was error code p1406, which read “EGR valve error” when I saw that, I assumed that I had to replace my EGR valve, but when I actually went to my cousin, a certified mechanic, we took a look at my car and found out that one of the hoses leading to the EGR valve was unplugged, which led to the computer having no communication with the perfectly working EGR valve.  Catching this problem was nice and it probably saved me 50 bucks and a lot of time, so before doing work on your car, know what you have to fix. 

            Another point on the list, is to keep your tires properly inflated.  This one is one that most of us can do for FREE at a gas station.  The most difficult part is probably finding out what tire preassure to inflate it too.  It’s ethier on the tire or on the door frame, not that hard to find.  When your at a gas station in California and there is an air pump station, all you have to do is ask the cashier to turn it on, and by law they do, EVEN if the air pump station says $.25. Pretty cool huh.

            But most importantly on any DIY situation, SAFETY FIRST.  Goodluck and have a happy car.

My cars most recent problem

So I go on YouTube and I am looking at my subscriber’s video and I come across this video from Scotty Kilmer.  This guy Scotty has a great, and useful video channel and is probably my main inspiration for my blog.  This video in particular is one that I recently had in my car.  When I wasn’t accelerating, or pressing on the gas, my RPM's would dip, and my car would almost shut off.  After watching this video, and seeing how easy it was, I decided to try it.  This whole process from buying the product to turning on my car literally took me 30 minutes.   It was really that easy, I just waited the 30 minutes for my car to dry and sure enough it fixed the problem.

Auto blog

Well Autoblog is basically one of the coolest blogs about cars.  They have tons of interesting things on there.  It's like a search engine for cars.  They have categories where you can search for your car or by manufacture.  There are tons of links to sites like auctions, classic cars, celeb cars and concept cars.  This place is great because they update their blog several times a day. the thing I like about this one is that when new cars come up, they are usually the first to have pictures videos etc. on this new car, and also having all the specs of it.  They mainly focus on newer cars and updates about them but they also do post things that regard the cars we have now.  Well this is a really cool blog, check it out:
